As a founding member of the Legend 3D Toronto location, Tiku Roemello Fisher was part of the Visual Effects team, specifically coordinating the 3D stereo conversion process. This involved managing the technical aspects of turning the 2D-shot footage into a 3D experience, a task handled by the company Legend3D. Their work focused on creating depth for the film’s complex visual effects, specifically separating characters within 3D space and handling the scaling of the 10-foot-tall gods next to mortal humans.
In the 2016 film Gods of Egypt, the story is set in a version of Ancient Egypt where the gods live among mortals, distinguished by their giant height and golden blood.
During the coronation of Horus (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), his jealous uncle Set (Gerard Butler) murders the king, Osiris. Set seizes the throne, blinds Horus by ripping out his eyes, and plunges the empire into chaos and slavery.
A mortal thief named Bek (Brenton Thwaites) manages to steal back one of Horus’s eyes from Set’s treasure vault. He offers the eye to the exiled Horus in exchange for a promise: that the god will bring Bek’s true love, Zaya, back from the underworld.
Together, the duo embarks on a perilous journey across the heavens and the underworld. They seek the aid of the sun god Ra and the goddess Hathor to gather enough power to challenge Set’s reign.
After an epic confrontation atop a massive obelisk, Horus chooses to save Bek’s life over reclaiming his own power, an act of selflessness that finally allows him to transform into his true divine form. Horus defeats Set, restores Ra to his barge to hold back the chaos-serpent Apophis, and is crowned the rightful King of Egypt.
