Goosebumps is a 2015 American horror comedy film directed by Rob Letterman, loosely based on the popular young adult book series of the same name by R.L. Stine. It combines several monsters from the books into one narrative.
Teenager Zach Cooper (Dylan Minnette) moves with his mother from New York City to the small town of Madison, Delaware. He meets his eccentric neighbor, Mr. Shivers (Jack Black), and his daughter, Hannah (Odeya Rush). Zach soon discovers that his neighbor is actually the famed author R.L. Stine, and the monsters he writes about are real and trapped inside his locked manuscripts.
When Zach accidentally unlocks one of the original Goosebumps manuscripts (“The Abominable Snowman of Pasadena”) and unleashes the monster, a chain reaction occurs, freeing other infamous creatures including Slappy the Dummy (voiced by Jack Black), a giant preying mantis, garden gnomes, and werewolves.
Stine, Zach, Hannah, and Zach’s friend Champ must team up to capture all the monsters by getting them back into a single manuscript.
