The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 is a 2015 American dystopian science fiction action film directed by Francis Lawrence. It is the final installment in The Hunger Games film series, based on the final novel Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins, and the fourth film overall in the franchise.
The story concludes the journey of Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), who now fully embraces her role as the “Mockingjay,” the symbol of the rebellion against the tyrannical Capitol and its leader, President Snow (Donald Sutherland).
With the districts of Panem united in all-out war, Katniss and a specialized squad, including Gale Hawthorne (Liam Hemsworth), Finnick Odair (Sam Claflin), and a still-brainwashed Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson), embark on a dangerous mission into the Capitol. Their goal is no longer just to win the war, but to assassinate President Snow personally. The journey is fraught with deadly “pods” (booby traps) planted throughout the city, intense combat with Peacekeepers, and personal betrayals, leading to a climactic and tragic conclusion that decides the fate of Panem.
